Backorder Policy

At SimpleSpares, we strive to keep all parts in stock. However, some items may occasionally need to be ordered from our suppliers or the manufacturer. This policy explains how we handle backorders.

What is a Backorder?

A backorder occurs when an item is temporarily out of stock and needs to be ordered from our supplier or manufacturer. When you order a backordered item, we will source it specifically for you.

Backorder Notification

When an item is on backorder:

  • The product page will indicate that the item needs to be ordered
  • Estimated delivery times will be displayed where available
  • You will receive email updates about your order status

Estimated Delivery Times

Backorder delivery times vary depending on the item:

  • Standard backorders: Typically 5-10 business days
  • Factory orders: Approximately 10 business days or as indicated
  • Special orders: May take longer depending on availability

Note: These are estimates and actual delivery times may vary. We will notify you if there are any significant delays.

Payment for Backorders

Payment is collected at the time of order. If a backordered item becomes unavailable or significantly delayed, we will contact you to discuss options, which may include a full refund.

Cancelling a Backorder

You can cancel a backorder at any time before it ships:

  • Contact us at sales@simplespares.com with your order number
  • If the item has not yet been ordered from our supplier, cancellation is free
  • If the item has already been ordered, a restocking fee may apply for certain custom or special-order items

Partial Shipments

If your order contains both in-stock and backordered items, we may ship the in-stock items first (at no additional shipping cost) and send the backordered items when they become available. You will be notified of any partial shipments.

Unavailable Items

In rare cases, a backordered item may become permanently unavailable. If this happens, we will notify you immediately and offer a full refund or help you find a suitable alternative.
